The Israel Visual Basic User Group (IVBUG)  was founded in 1997 by Jackie Goldstein, who continues to organize and host the monthly meetings.  The user group has attracted a great core of exceptionally knowledgeable and experienced developers who are eager to both learn and share information and ideas with other participants.   Every meeting is both fun and educational and is supported by Microsoft Israel.  It is an opportunity to learn new tools and techniques from the formal presentations as well as from the informal discussions and  Question and Answer sessions.  Speakers include industry experts, senior Microsoft managers, and user group members.

Performance Design Pitfalls

This month we take a look at the newly released Internet Explorer 8 (IE-8), from two difference perspectives – that of a user and that of a developer.

Doron Goldberg,  a Software Architect at Netwise with intimate knowledge of Internet Explorer 8, will first provide us with a general overview of IE-8 new features, including: Tab browsing, InPrivate browsing, Favorites , Security, Suggested sites,  Accessibility and Caret browsing, Safety, Compatibility.

In his second session, Doron will provide an overview and examples of the new IE-8 features for developers, such as web slices, accelerators and visual search suggestions, AJAX history and DOM Storage.

As always, we'll have our special "Hatzilu" session at our meeting. So please come prepared to discuss your most frustrating problems (or at least some of them!) and to share some of your own techniques and solutions that you have found useful in your applications.
